Aloha travelers, explorers and ‘ohana,

The situation regarding Covid-19 continues to evolve at a rapid pace as the world tries to minimize the spread and keep communities safe. Our local government is taking aggressive action to protect our island residents and we support their efforts to ensure this virus does not overwhelm our limited island resources.

Recent developments include Governor Ige issuing a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine for all incoming travelers and residents upon arrival to Hawaii, this begins on March 26th, 2020. Recreational travel to Hawaii is discouraged at this time so we can limit the possible exposure from outside sources. Our local economy depends upon tourism so this will have huge and lasting impacts throughout the state. We value our visitors and encourage you to reschedule your current Hawai’i vacation plans to a later date, when we can again welcome you with a hug and lei; the social distancing is difficult for our culture who typically greet one another with hugs and handshakes.

In addition, Governor Ige issued a stay-at-home order for the State of Hawaii through April 30th, 2020. To comply with this, all tours have been cancelled through May 3rd, 2020. We have closed our office to ensure all our employees are able to abide, but we will be responding to voicemails and emails regularly. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

Please visit our website to book a future tour or read updates, we will keep this blog current.

As of now, our plans are to resume operations:

Office open on Friday, May 1st, 2020

Tours out of Port Allen resume on Monday, May 4th, 2020

Tours out of Hanalei resume on Tuesday, May 19th, 2020

The beauty of Kaua’i and its people will be here waiting for you once this has passed. Stay safe, healthy and spread only Aloha!

Warm Aloha,

Chandra Bertsch

Due to the recent state and federal guidelines regarding Covid-19, Holo Holo Charters has made the incredibly difficult decision to temporarily suspend our operations. We feel this is the best choice to support our government in containing the spread of this dangerous virus. The health and safety of our staff and guests is our biggest priority and we send our aloha to everyone around the world who have been affected by this unprecedented tragedy.

The governor of Hawai’i and mayor of Kaua’i have asked that travelers avoid recreational visits to the state for at least 30 days. We hope that these drastic measures will be effective so we can all begin to rebuild our lives and communities into a new normal.

We plan to resume operations as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so. We have cancelled all tours from March 18th through May 3rd, 2020. If you currently have a tour confirmed within these dates, the tour has been cancelled and you will be issued a refund. Due to the overwhelming cancellations, refunds may take longer than usual to be processed so please be patient and reach out if you haven’t received your refund by April 6th, 2020. If you have booked your tour through a third party who collected your payment, please reach out to them directly to ensure you get refunded.

Barring any unforeseen changes, tours will resume May 4th, 2020, for all tours departing out of Port Allen (all tours on vessels Holo Holo & Leila); and May 19th, 2020, for all tours departing out of Hanalei (tours on vessels Adventurer II and Adventurer III). If you plan to visit Kaua’i after these dates, please book a tour with confidence, if we are unable to operate you will be issued a full refund or be given the option to reschedule.

Our office is closed through May 3rd, 2020, but we will be responding to voicemails and emails so please reach out if you have any further questions. We will keep our website updated with any changes.

During this stressful time, stay safe and healthy, take time for yourself, and spread the Aloha Spirit in your community. We look forward to creating memories on the water for you and your family in the future.
