Team Spotlight: Leilani Kimokeo-Ragocos

Officially the Administrative Associate at Holo Holo Charters, Leilani is affectionately referred to as the “ninja” of Holo, because she moves seamlessly between tasks and departments within the company. Growing up here, Leilani naturally developed a strong appreciation for the land, the ocean, and the people. In her professional role, she aims to carry that same aloha and kuleana into everything she does, whether it’s supporting the team or working behind the scenes to help create meaningful experiences for guests.
Leilani joined the team as a Reservations Specialist in February 2019, with a brief pause during the pandemic, returning to the Holo family in April 2021. She describes her role at Holo Holo as “wonderfully dynamic.” A catch-all doesn’t scrape the surface of the far-reaching support Leilani provides across several departments, including HR, Accounting, Sales & Marketing, and Operations. She even dabbles in IT troubleshooting and manages all of Holo’s donations, both in-kind and financial. “No two days are ever the same,” she says, “and I absolutely love the organized chaos of it all!”
With a career in supportive roles, Leilani found opportunities to fine-tune her skills in communication, organization, and multitasking. “I take great joy in being able to problem-solve and help create a smoother workflow, ensuring that everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes,” she explains, “It’s fulfilling for me to contribute to a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.”
Alongside many of her colleagues, Leilani describes the work culture at Holo Holo as meaningful. “We’re part of something bigger, sharing the beauty of Kauaʻi while caring for our community, our team, and the ocean that sustains us.” Born and raised on Kauaʻi’s westside, Leilani feels a deep connection to Holo’s sustainability-forward way of conducting business. “My Tutu (grandma) and Koʻo (great-grandma) raised me with a deep respect for the ʻāina, “she explained, “One thing my Koʻo always told me was, ‘You mālama the ʻāina, and the ʻāina mālama you,’ which means “You take care of the land, and the land takes care of you.” Holo Holo’s Pono Pledge, among other initiatives to preserve Hawaiʻi’s natural resources, mirrors Leilani’s family values, making them a great match. “Holo genuinely cares about the island, sustainability, and giving back to the ʻāina and our community.”
As with all Team Spotlights, we asked Leilani about her favorite tour at Holo Holo, and she chose the ever-popular Niʻihau + Nāpali Super Tour. Calling it a “bucket-list adventure,” Leilani expressed that this specific tour holds a special place in her heart. “It offers a rare and transformative experience that many only dream of,” she says, “the chance to visit the ‘Forbidden Island’ and snorkel in its untouched waters is something that can leave a lasting impact.”
With heartfelt appreciation for the amazing team she has the privilege to work alongside every day, Leilani describes a genuine connection among the Holo team, built on common goals, efforts, and laughter. “This place holds a special significance for me, and I feel truly grateful to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated group.”
Mahalo for all that you do, Leilani!
