Voted 2nd Best US Boat Tour 2021

Best Kauai Boat Tour

Kauai Boat Tour Company Voted One of the Best Boat Tours in the US for the Last 3 Years: 2021, 2020, and 2019.

Kauai boat tour company Holo Holo Charters was recently voted the second-best boat tour in the nation by the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Award contest. Coming in on the list are boat tours ranging from steam-boat river cruises in Nevada to wildlife and glacier tours in Alaska.

“We would like to have been voted #1, but hey, Chicago must have a really great boat tour!” said Kit F., the marketing manager at Holo Holo Charters. “All jokes aside, we are very flattered and honored to be included on this list with these other distinguished tour boat companies” he added.

Holo Holo Charters was established on Kauai in 1997 and runs daily boat tours and sunset cruises to the world-famous Napali Coast and snorkeling tours to the “Forbidden Island” of Niihau and Lehua Crater. It’s the only way to get up close and personal to this truly forbidden place. The company takes Kauai visitors and residents alike on sailing, snorkeling and sightseeing tours along the vibrant coast that boasts dramatic 3,500-foot cliffs, emerald valleys, sea caves, arches, secluded beaches, waterfalls, rainbows, dolphins, turtles and humpback whales (seasonally). Holo Holo’s four charter boats were proudly designed and built-in Hawaii by the owner of the company, a third-generation boat builder.

A panel of travel experts picked twenty nominees for The Best Boat Tour and announced them on their website, on May 1, 2021. The panel included a combination of editors from USA TODAY, editors from, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both media properties. For four weeks, the public was invited to browse the twenty boat tours and vote online for one nominee each day.

While the 10Best Readers’ Choice Award contest lives on – a standalone travel media site – it is promoted across USA TODAY Travel Media Group’s digital and mobile products, as well as via social media. Nominees are also announced and/or promoted across relevant USA TODAY departments, and through Gannett media outlets. provides users with original, unbiased, and experiential travel content of top attractions, things to see and do, and restaurants for top destinations in the U.S. and around the world.
