Yes, friends, you read that right. We just received our 3rd nomination in a month and this time it’s for the Best Tour Company in Hawaiʻi. We’re on one heck of a roll and the word on the street is out! Not only is Holo Holo the #1 Best Boat Tour in the U.S. we are also being recognized and in the running for the Best Boat Tour Company in Hawaiʻi.
It went a little something like this:

I’m reaching out to let you know that our editors, along with a panel of subject matter experts, have chosen Holo Holo Charters as a nominee for Best Tour Company in Hawaiʻi. The USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards highlight top-notch attractions and businesses, providing readers with trusted recommendations.
We are over the moon excited for our 3rd nomination this year (all in one month, actually), and we truly need your kōkua on this one, ok? We need all hands on deck to clinch this title. Please, read on to see why we deserve this award, and share with your friends and family. Let’s bring another award home to the shores of Kauaʻi!
First things first: Voting begins on Monday, June 17th at 12:00 P.M. EDT and ends on Monday, July 15th at 11:59 A.M. EDT. The top 10 winners, as ranked by USA TODAY 10Best readers, will be announced on Wednesday, July 24th at 12:00 P.M. EDT.
Top three reasons we are the Best Boat Tour Company in Hawaiʻi:
1. The unique location we tour (Nāpali Coast all the way, baby!).
The Nāpali Coast takes our breath away on the daily, for real. We take great pride in being the only boat tour on Kauaʻi that goes to Niʻihau daily. Like, as in, 365 days a year, weather permitting. We are deeply dedicated to the island, our guests, and our daily tours. We live, breathe, and bleed (you get my jest) Nāpali!
Not only do we know the Nāpali Coastline well, we know the water well, too. We are skilled in navigating the ebb and flow of the mighty Pacific, day in and day out, along the stunning and colorful Nāpali cliffs. Daily, our boats skim effortlessly through shimmering ocean caverns, cascading waterfalls, and along sun-drenched peaks. There really is nothing like cruising the sacred, serene Nāpali Coast, and we are so grateful to be able to share this pristine paradise with our Holo Holo guests, family, and friends. There is no other place like this on Earth.
2. Our employees.
We could not do what we do without our team! Our team is the backbone of our company, and we acknowledge, appreciate, and applaud the efforts of everyone on deck and behind the scenes. Mahalo nui loa for all that you do!

Holo offers up to 16 hours of pay per year for each employee to participate individually in various community volunteer events such as beach cleanups, fishpond restoration, keiki marine life education, native plant restoration, and sustainable farming.

These are not just new age terms we throw around lightly. We are 100% dedicated to being sustainable and eco-friendly from the ground up. From the in-house building of our boats down to the reef safe sunscreen we provide, we focus on how to leave as little a footprint as possible.

To be the most ecologically conscious boat tour company on Kauaʻi by providing a positive impact on our island resources and local community. We believe that by taking people out for amazing experiences on the ocean, it will ignite an existing desire to protect the ocean and ecosystems.
We’re notably the only Kauaʻi boat tour company to be certified by the Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaiʻi program and the only Kauaʻi boat tour company to be part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s (NOAA) Dolphin SMART program, a voluntary program that promotes the responsible stewardship of wild dolphins in coastal waterways.
Holo Holo Charters is the only Kauaʻi boat tour company to be certified as an “Ocean Friendly Restaurant” by the Surfrider Foundation. We’re not really a restaurant per se, but we serve delicious meals prepared specially by our caterers. We work together to ensure the meal we serve is locally sourced (where possible) and are conscious about the waste we create or can avoid. We use reusable tableware and cloth napkins for our meals to avoid daily waste from single-use items, promoting a more sustainable future for our island home.
We are also part of Carbon Buddy, a Hawaiʻi-based carbon offset project that will eventually offset 100% of our carbon emissions, and support Reef Guardians of Hawaiʻi, among many other environmentally-focused local organizations.
