Kōloa Rum Co. uses rainwater from Mount Waiʻaleʻale, nearby mountain peaks, and rainforests. The freshwater is filtered through volcanic strata into giant underground aquifers. Their rums use only pure “tall cane” sugarcane and locally sourced coffee, chocolate, and other island ingredients to develop authentic, unique Hawaiʻi-flavored spirits.
In addition to the high-quality ingredients, the smooth, distinct flavors and scents of Kōloa Rum are also due to the second part of the distillation process, where the distillate is collected in three separate sections – heads, heart, and tails.

How to Make the Perfect Kōloa Rum Mai Tai
1 oz Kōloa Kauaʻi Gold Rum
¾ oz pineapple juice (adjust the juice to your liking – can add other tropical juices to taste)
¾ oz lime juice
½ oz Orange Curaçao
½ oz Orgeat
Float 1 oz Kōloa Kauaʻi Dark Rum
Garnish with a pineapple slice.
Instructions
Combine Gold Rum, pineapple, lime, Orange Curaçao, and Orgeat in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice into a sustainable Holo Holo cup. Top with Dark Rum float and enjoy!
